Thanks for the site I live in Ireland and i am Playing a Tele a long long time Fender would be my choice but at the moment i play a Tokai with Texas spc pups with a Sessionette 75 or Musicman 65 1x 15 what a marrage with a sound you would die for Cheers Muldoon

I have a friend that clams he has a guitar tat was made for Jimi at the Fender plant but never got to him. Did Jimi order a bunch of Strats and frender ship them as jimi needed them. all indications my friend has points to this guitar “may have been made for Jimi but he passed and the Guitar went on open market. and found its way to my buddy. we spent hours last night picking this guitar apart. Can you supply me with any truth to this.

Richard, First off, I’m biased, I like and own a Clapton olympic white Strat! That being said, the type of guitar is personal and you need to play both types to makes a decision. The Gibson is heavier than a Strat, so it is more strain to hold for long periods. I recommend finding the nearest Guitar Center or mega guitar store and spend an afternoon or two playing guitars. I do it regularly . It is fun. A relic Strat is a custom shop Strat that is designed to look worn, for instance the Lenny Strat, a copy of Stevie Ray Vaughan’s looks worn out, but it is new. The Eric Clapton Strat is super versatile and plays like you would expect it to, great. Basically any American Strat is a great guitar. they are also set up better than Gibson guitars from the factory and are very affordable compared to most Gibson’s. Let me know what happens.

Hi,

Sorry to waste your time with this as you sound like an expert in this area, only I’m in a position to spend some money on a couple of guitars, think I’ve narrowed it down to an Olympic White Stratocaster, and a Les Paul T-Stained Gibson.

My questions are, is the 60 Relic better than a brand new Stratocaster??, is there a signature Stratocaster I should looking at??, and can you recommend a reputable dealer for these items??
