I know where you’re coming from, Danny. It’s not that hard to play the blues, generically(if that’s a word). But we can also get in the “vibe” with both sadness and joy. Blues can go both ways, at least for me. Getting in “the zone” doesn’t happen every time we play, sometimes it’s just going through the motions and putting notes together. But when emotions take over, sometimes I sit back and ask myself, “Did I really play that???”

My heart weeps for you Danny – it’s an experience that we all face, but none the less still creates an empty, lonely feeling.

Those great blues players I believe had that empty lonely feeling from little of on, for all their struggles!
