Guitar Players, You Gotta See This…

Cecilia Siqueira and Fernando Lima (Duo Siqueira Lima) performing TICO TICO NO FUBA (Zequinha de Abreu) during the Brazilian Music Institute in Gainesville, FL.

It’s hard to create any viable content for this performance. I literally Stumbled across this video on YouTube. I was speechless at the time. I still can’t think of much to say.

I have plenty on my hands playing the guitar by myself. Looking at two people play one guitar so prolifically that it seems they had one mind with 4 arms proves what two accomplished guitar players can do. How do you think they are able to play one guitar at the same time? Practice, Practice and a lot more practice.

It seems cute and it is a definite curiosity, but every guitarist with any degree of skill knows how much time and effort must have been put into this. Synchronizing two minds to play a duet on one guitar is amazing. When I first took guitar lessons in the ’60s, they were classical guitar lessons. When recital time came, my teacher and I would usually play a classical guitar duet. I can attest to the amount of concentration it takes when both players have a guitar. This type of synchronicity and skill is beyond me.

As a matter of fact, I don’t like getting that close to anyone but my wife. When people share their ’spaces’ that close, I sure hope they brushed their teeth!

Worthy of several views for sure. Even tough they are not playing an electric guitar or the blues, performances such as this are very entertaining. Enjoy. GuitarPlayersCenter.com
