You need at least a flat straight edge ruler. Buy this course <a href="http://www.guitarplayerscenter.com/guitar-repairs/" at this address. It's cheap and prevents screw ups

You should learn how to adjust it before you arbitrarily change it. You need at least a flat straight edge ruler. Should I tighten or loosen the rod?

Im trying to get “fast” or “low” action on my epiphone explorer, if I lower the bridge I get too much buzz and some dead notes up near the head of the guitar (pressing the first fret on the A & low E string, and the D string has buzz in this area), and the action still seems a little too high near the pickups, Im guessing I need to adjust the truss rod, correct? I bought a whole lot of good information. I?ve been preserving an eye on this technological innovation for awhile. It is fascinating the way it retains shifting, yet some of the core components remain the same.

Great web site. I bought a whole lot of good information. to screw the truss rod out of the bracket or must the fretboard

Thanks for any help

Have a Gibson Hummingbird that the truss rod is damaged<br

Take an 18" straight edge and lay it on the frets with the strings on. Basically by eye you want it flat. You need to bow it back, however that may cause frets to bottom out. If you just want to try the truss rod, experiment with it, try both ways until you get it.

Hi Victor, There is more to string height than adjusting the neck bow. This is not a comment, is a question.
I just put together the body of my strat with the neck. I need to know for the action, if I want the strings closer to the neck how should I twist the tool, clockwise or counter clockwise. Please Help.
