Neil Young Changing The World Again With Electric Car

Neil Young, the great composer and guitarist of Crosby, Stills Nash and Young who changed the world with songs protesting the Viet-Nam war and our current administration, continues to make changes with his car.

Young has teamed with up with Johnathan Goodwin, a Wichita, Kan., mechanic who has developed a national reputation for re-engineering the power units of big cars to get more horsepower, but use less fuel.Neil Young

The two are looking to convert Young’s ‘59 Lincoln Continental convertibleto operate on car battery power.Electric car parking only. Ultimately, they said, they want the Lincoln to provide a prototype for the worlds first affordable mass-produced electric car. young has put $12000.00 into the progect.” we are going to change the world: we are going to create a car that will allow us to stop giving our wealth to other countries for petroleum.”

goodwin’s customers include California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, who has had Goodwin work on his Hummer.

“You know, I thought long ago you could change the world by writing songs,” Young said. “But you can’t change the world by writing songs. Oh, you can inspire a few people, get some of them to change their thinking about something. But you can’t change the world by writing songs.

“But we could change it with this car.”

    Excellent story. This is the stuff that gives me some morsel of hope for our future on this earth. My first LP was a Neil Young Album called After The Goldrush. I loved it. then, and still love those songs today.

    Neil Young has never been afraid to try anything, the guy is a musical mastermind. Overcoming so many challenges in his life, and continued success he is truly someone to respect.
